These waltzes were a way for me to explore the world of orchestration and experiment with the full sound of an orchestra. I used the Vienna Symphonic Library (www.vsl.co.at/en), which I’ve found to be one of the most realistic libraries out there. Working with it gave me the freedom to play around, make mistakes, and learn more about the unique voices of different instruments—and how they come together to create something bigger than the sum of their parts.
